The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing 2004
is a technical conference featuring invited keynote and
technical speakers, panels, workshops, presentations, new
investigator technical papers, PhD forums, technical posters,
and birds of a feather sessions (BOFs). The speakers are
leaders in their respective fields, representing industrial,
academic, and government communities. The theme of the Fifth
Grace Hopper Celebration is Making History, celebrating
the impact of women – past, present, and future –
on computing.
As in years past, submissions on both technical and professional
topics are welcomed. The Grace Hopper Program Committee
is especially encouraging technical submissions (panels,
workshops, new investigator papers, posters, and BOF sessions)
that cross disciplines and other boundaries. Authors are
invited to submit proposals electronically.
The requirements and deadlines for submission vary with
the category (click on each item below for more detailed
information).
Notification to authors: June 1, 2004
Camera-ready copy of all materials (papers, abstracts,
bios, etc.) due for conference Final Program: August 15,
2004
Length requirements: Technical papers may be at most six
(6) pages including figures and references. Proposals for
panels, workshops, and presentations, PhD forum presentations,
technical posters, and BOFs can be at most two (2) pages.
Do not use less than 10pt type. Submissions will be evaluated
on quality and relevance to the field of computing; submissions
beyond the required length will be penalized in the review
process. Limited travel grants are available for attendees
of the Grace Hopper Celebration. Priority will be given
to students and junior professionals who are presenters
