Birds of a feather (BOFs)

New! We have had to close BOF submissions because we have already exceeded our supply of available rooms. We are working on alternative arrangements and will reopen the submission process if they become available.

The goal of the BOFs is to provide an informal discussion forum. We are soliciting BOFs in both technical and social issues. For example, a technical BOF might bring together women interested in mobile computing and networking, while a social issues BOF might focus on academic hiring issues for women. We particularly encourage BOFs open to (or targeted at) undergraduate students.

A BOF proposal should include a title, a brief description of the topic, a description of the expected audience, and a summary of the qualifications of the session leader(s). Submissions can be no more than two (2) pages in length (using no less than 10pt
type) and they must be made electronically. The primary deadline for BOF proposals is May 1, 2004, but additional BOFs may be proposed up until and even during the conference. For further information, contact the GHC2004 Chair for BOFs, Professor Beth Simon (bsimon [at] sandiego.edu).
