GHC Mission Statement
Inspired by the legacy of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, a pioneer in the field of computing and an inspiration to women and scientists everywhere, the conference encourages women by making them aware of the possibilities, success stories, and rewards available to women in computing. Attendees will learn of the latest advances in the computer field through technical sessions presented by women who are leaders in the academic, government, and industrial communities. They will also have the opportunity to interact with and learn from their peers and colleagues in workshops and panels that explore the unique experiences of women in computing.

Technical sessions will run in parallel, allowing attendees to hear talks specifically related to their own fields, and will highlight a broad range of work by women engineers and researchers. Speakers will describe their vision of the future for their fields, and will comment on open problems, emphasizing possibilities for collaboration within and across areas of expertise. Technical topic sessions at this year's conference will also feature short talks by students and young professionals, benefiting attendees with perspectives on the industry from both ends of the career spectrum.

In informal sessions, women from different groups within computing will have the chance to interact in an environment that fosters mentor relationships, and encourages dialogue about promoting success for women in various fields of computing. Presentation of cutting-edge technical information and innovations expected in the future, combined with the celebration of women's accomplishments in the computing field to date, make the conference a superlative event for exploring women's roles and promoting brighter futures for women in computing.

The conference logo (upper left) is the venus symbol, the symbol of woman, created out of the binary elements 0 and 1.
