GHC2002 strongly encourages the participation of student/young investigators in the conference. Opportunities include:
- Scholarships: Pending funding, students and young investigators (those in advanced degree programs or recent graduates of such programs) will be able to apply for a scholarship (travel grant) to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration. Priority for awards will be given to those students and young investigators who are presenters at GHC2002. Applications are due October 1, 2001 - information will be posted after June 1, 2001.
- MentorMatch: Students attending GHC2002 can apply for a "mentor match" for the conference. Senior women in computing have volunteered to spend time with students attending the conference, introducing them to leaders in their field of interest. Information will be posted after June 1, 2001 at http://www.gracehopper.org/mentors.html.
- Student/young investigator paper and poster awards. Technical papers and posters with a student/young investigator as a primary author will be eligible to receive awards that will include membership in the organizations who are sponsoring GHC2002, a travel grant to GHC2004, and a monetary prize.
